Emma graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1976 with a BA in Philosophy. She quickly discovered that philosophy doesn't have much value in the workplace. She "thought deeply" for a couple of decades while watching two astonishing children grow into happy, confident adults.
Every time Emma moves away from Williamsburg, it keeps pulling her back. She now lives in a deeply wooded area, just outside of town, among the deer, rabbits, and hummingbirds.
Emma ran a successful online business creating and selling embroidery design files to owners of home embroidery machines around the world under the name Perfect Little Stitches from 1997 to 2017.
She also published a daily newsletter to promote home embroidery under the name StitchFun News.
Emma creates quilts that tell stories.
This one is a tribute to the four years she lived in Japan.
Emma likes to run, anything from a two-mile Turkey Trot to a full marathon.
Mostly, Emma likes to write.
